Welcome to our news page! Last Spring I sent out a newsletter to all customers
and potential customers. In the meantime, I realized that there are ALWAYS
updates occurring that I need to communicate - especially to our 'family' members
regarding their kittens, list status, and what our plans our here. So you will have to
make a point to check the news when you visit our site to look at all our beautiful
babies!!! I will also keep some interesting pictures on this page - pictures of our
babies in their new homes that should bring smiles to your faces!!!!

Happy New Year! I hope all our Keitta family is well and enjoying their babies! We'd
love to see any cute holiday pictures you caught.
We've been busy here at the cattery getting ready for the 2009 breeding season.
We've been focusing on resting our momma's so they will be fully recovered from
their litters in 2008 and thus, strong and healthy. We've been watching our momma's
in waiting develop and become gorgeous. We are extremely excited for Keirra, Enya,
and Lumiya to come of age to be able to breed. We will not do this until after they
are at least 12 - 18 months old. Keirra, who is 8 months old now is already as large as
her momma, Lilliana, and weighs around 9 - 10 lbs! She has great structure and a
wonderful personality, and we are hoping she will have some beautiful babies with our
males.
We've also been 'beefing' up our studs (studs tend to lose weight when all they can
think about are girls - and that time is fast approaching when "spring will be in the
air" and they become more so "in the mood".) Aslan, who is not yet 2 years old, is 15
lbs and growing. His color has developed into a beautiful blue-silver, and actually
would be a wonderful show cat - he has the laid back and loveable personality to allow
judges to look him over without becoming stressed.
I'll be trying to get some decent updated pictures of all the boys & girls with their
winter coats on, so stay tuned and take a look when you check back on the website.
We've also been busy since late fall in moving cats around into compatible groups.
One thing people may not understand, is that we do not just have all our cats running
all over the house. We separate our females from the males (obviously) until it is time
for mating. And because of the number of females, we have them broken down into
two small groups at this time - Lilliana, Mairi & Katya are keeping Pat company in her
bedroom ('Princess' Katya is enjoying the faux silk bedspread). Lanka, Bonita, Keirra,
Enya, and Lumiya are enjoying the main cattery area on our third floor - the entire
floor is one big cat condo.
We will let you know in this section when we have pregnant girls!
Well, we have three queens pregnant, and a fourth that has been bred. BunBun will be
coming due around April 15. Lilianna & Mairi are due the last week in April. Katya will
be due in late May if she is pregnant (we will know with certainty in around 3 - 4
weeks). Below are the matings with expected colors:
Stitch & BunBun: Blue with white; Blue Mack (Mackeral) Tabbies; potential for high
white kittens (see pictures of litter A for this mating's last litter); Blue-Silver Mack
Tabbies
Taavi & Lilianna: These two have been mated twice before - see litters C & D. Colors -
Colorpoints (CP), CP Torbies, Red Mack Tabbies, Flamepoint CP's, Black Tabbies, Black
Tabbies with high white ("cow" babies) (possibly a Torbie Mackeral with white)
Stitch & Mairi: Tabbies, Smokes, Silvers - and these colors with white
Taavi & Katya: Black, Brown, Red Mack Tabbies; potentially a Colorpoint
Now is the time to start your allergy testing, and securing your place on our wait list!

On April 15, 2009 Bun Bun had a beautiful litter of five, and we are proud to announce
mom and babes are doing well. Pictures will be up soon follow our Available Kitten page
links to Litter H.
April 29, 2009
Well, it was a busy past weekend - Both Mairia and Liliana delivered on April 25!! Mairi started
at 12 AM - Lili started mid-afternoon Saturday - Mairi had finished already - THANK
GOODNESS! Babies are cuties - I'll be getting pages up as soon as I have some block of time to
do this. Mairi has had four little ones - we think a few are smokes with beautiful markings; a one
is a torbie (girl). We unofficially think the rest are boys - we will post this for certain on the
available kitten page for that litter (Litter I).
Lilli had four little beauties (Litter J) - two red boys, one colorpoint boy, one torbie (girl) that
looks like a momma clone.
Katya (appropriately litter K) is definitely pregnant, and is due mid-May. She is a first time mom,
so it is cute to see her reaction to when the babies move - LOL!
I'll drop an email to our past clients and current wait list folks regarding when the webpages
with kitten pictures are updated.

Hello from the Keitta Korral !
Just a quick note to say that all the babies are growing and progressing well, and starting to
develop their very cute personalities; its very fun to watch!
BunBun's babies are now eating 'mush' (baby food mixed with raw food) - so they cry at the
top of their lungs whenever I come to see them - especially if it is around meal time! BunBun
is still nursing them, but trying to wean.
We have moved all the kittens from their birthing boxes to play pens (yeah, I'm sure Graco
would find that we would be good spokes-people for their company!) So now the babies have
play space as they are learning to walk backwards, rocking and learning how to take off in a
death-defying leap, and jumping onto each other. Once they have learned to climb the netting
of the playpen, we then will put them into a larger octagon pen with sides they cannot climb.
These are large areas that allow room to sleep, play, eat, and use potties. And mama's can
start to spend time out and away from the kittens when they need some 'me' time.
Katya is spending most of her time lounging with Lili and her kittens while she awaits the
arrival of her own. She is just barely starting to get some milk in which means she could go a
few days early. We are keeping our finger's crossed and a close eye on her now until she
delivers.
Stay tuned for any updates!
Sorry about delays in getting pictures posted - trying to work thru some computer gliches,
web program gliches AND heavy use of the computer for Pat's work right now. The pages are
not in final forms, but I will keep adding a little at a time

We are gearing up for our fall breeding and soon will be taking wait list requests. We are
very excited as this will be the first matings of some of our new girls! Enya, Lumiya, and
Keirra are all ready and waiting to breed. Our new girl, Kaleena from our Litter K will not
be available, obviously, until next year, but her mother, Katya, is on her way to recovery
from her current litter - has kept her weight well and so may have an earlier breeding
instead of waiting a year this time. Lanka will be bred for her final time before retirement
- just like Lilianna and BunBun, she deserves her well earned permanent vacation. I am
revamping some of the info on the website and will be announcing any changes/updates thru
Twitter. You can follow 'tweets' by either subscribing to my Twitter addy - @rambonrse,
or just to check our Twitter feed on our main website page.

Well, Twitter was fun - but not as useful as I thought it would be. We are now on Facebook -
all customers past and present are welcome to join the 'family' online this way. It is an easy
way to share photos, and you may actually connect with old friends, colleagues, and family
that you haven't been able to keep up with for awhile!
Well, our 'fall' breeding did not go quite as planned - only Keirra went into heat at the time
we wanted to mate them - the rest, I guess, thought they would consider themselves on hiatus.
I think a lot had to do with the temperature extremes in late summer and early fall. Our
kitties didn't know whether to blow their coats or keep them - or to go into heat or not (we
had a number of 'false starts' on going into heat, but they went right back out again).
Keirra is due December 25th - Merry Christmas!! She is starting to show a good size belly,
and will now enter the fetus fast-growth stage, so she will probably look like a 'Booda Mom'
in a few weeks. Early on in pregnancy Keirra was so funny - she will be a first time mom, and
we thing the 'mommy hormones' she started to emit confused her - she kept trying to nurse
off of Lanka - something she hasn't done since she was a kitten!!! VERY funny to see. We also
think that Lanka decided not to go into heat so she could 'take care of her babies', meaning
Keirra, Lumiya, and Enya - all of our young queens. Nothing like a little bit of 'mommy
hormones & pheromones' and momma instinct to change the best laid plans!
A reminder to all customers - PLEASE update us on your 'babies' growth, development, and
health if you have not done so recently - also photos are important for us to see to decide on
future breeding endeavors. We LOVE your kitty pictures because they are fun to look at, but
it is also very important for ethical breeding practices which we hold firmly to.

February 9, 2010
Well, been a bit since a formal news update. We have found a purpose for Twitter - our
momma/baby-watch - during the last week before the momma is due, there will start to be some
updates on the momma status, and as she goes thru delivery, you will see our Twitter feed on
the Main page change to reflect what is happening in real-time. Facebook has been great to
keep up-to-date with our 'family' - please feel free to become a part of this.
Katya is due in about 7 - 10 days now - around February 17 - 20. So Twitter feed will start to
become active. Our wait list is still taking names for this and upcoming litters! We will
continue mating our queens as they go into heat, so we should have litters staggered thruout the
year.
Caught in a major winterstorm path - you can see pictures on our main page of the Feb 5-6
storm - we are getting snow again this evening in thru tomorrow (up to another foot of snow),
and they say that next week again we could get hit. If this was in Iowa, I would blow it off as
normal - but in Pittsburgh, there is just NO WHERE left to put all the snow! Should be a very
memorable winter...
